Studio Neptune's fine art program for adults offer unusual, stimulating art classes that serve both the novice and artistically trained individual. These non traditional classes use creativity as a means of relaxation, fun and artistic discovery. They serve as a reminder that life is not only about our frenzied schedules and that to delight in our unique creative selves is surprisingly within reach. Tapping into that resource makes us more balanced and therefore productive, a benefit to ourselves and all the people we interact with everyday.

In January of 2007, fifteen women attended "Shoe Therapy" at Studio Neptune. This mixed media sculpture class provided a perfect vehicle to explore artistic techniques while making a bold social statement using a common accessory.
Shoe Therapy will once again be offered at Studio Neptune this October. Using actual shoes as the basis for each sculpture, students begin by concealing the original details and work to establish their own personal message by altering the shoe with a variety of mediums.

3,600 Seconds of Design explores the design process as a rapid and continuous effort of arranging line, shape, color and texture to achieve results that are both balanced and compelling. Students will spend each class time producing a single collage within one hour, followed by a class critique of what was exciting and challenging about the process. Different materials will be provided each week to vary the content and provoke different ideas for each artwork.

Armchair Architect Who has imagined themselves to be a master builder? Fulfill your "Lego" or "Erector Set" fantasies by designing and building an architectural folly. Whether it is a doghouse, birdhouse, teahouse, temple, or shed, free your imagination from the banalities of budgets, building codes, and client demands. You are the client! You only have you to please! This class will explore the basic rudiments of sketching, drawing to scale, structure, and building a scale model of your vision.
