I am attracted to the act of conjuring an image, the process of bringing a painting into being. I like the visual adventure of seeing something that has never been before. I have a commitment to working on an intimately scaled format with intense color using successive layers of translucent glazes. My work is primarily abstract, but often influenced by ancient civilizations, Persian and Indian miniature paintings and archaeology.
